George Caramanlis

George Caramanlis was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1990 and has since practised in the Sydney CBD and other suburbs. He worked as an employed solicitor for two personal injury firms as well as Sun Alliance Insurance for seven years and became an accredited specialist in Personal Injury Law in 1996. Following his appointment, George formed his own firm, Daniels Lawyers in 2001. In July 2021, he merged with John Comino of Comino Prassas.

George specialises in all areas of Compensation Law such as workers compensation, car accident injury compensation, medical negligence, public liability and superannuation claims. He has acted in all types of compensation cases, including child victims and catastrophic cases, and has helped many accident victims. He has acted both as a solicitor for the insurer and the victim.

With significant expertise in Family Law, George can also advise on straight-forward to highly complex and contentious family matters. He can assist with divorce; child support agreements; children’s matters including relocation; financial agreements and resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, collaborative meetings and the court process. His breadth of experience in property matters ranges from those with a modest asset pool to multi-million-dollar asset pools, including family trusts, and overseas assets.

George believes that settling a matter out of court is the best option for his clients and helps them to minimise the time, stress and expense of litigation by assisting or representing them in negotiations, mediations or settlement conferences. He is highly competent in reaching quick and efficient resolutions for a range of family law disputes involving married, de facto and same-sex relationships.

George is also an experienced Immigration Lawyer and has advised many (non-lawyer) immigration agents on court proceedings relating to immigration matters, reviews and appeals from decisions made by the initial visa application.

Due to recent changes to the Migration Act 1958 (Cth), as an unrestricted legal practitioner, George is now able to provide immigration assistance in addition to legal assistance for immigration matters. This means that George can help clients with their visa applications from the beginning of their journey rather than getting involved only at a later stage, for example, to appeal a visa decision after an application prepared by a migration agent is denied.

George is passionate about keeping up with developments in the law and the methods of best representing clients in all aspects of their legal issues efficiently, cost effectively and with as little stress as possible.
